Women understand that there is an almost instant unburdening that occurs when thoughts are given a voice.  A journal offers a place to express every feeling without having to weigh words and that never requires you to return the favor by listening.  

Don't become overwhelmed by the idea of  keeping a journal. You need not begin the great American novel or even limit your writing to complete sentences and paragraphs. Simply jotting down phrases and random words creates a beautiful prose out of a stream of consciousness.

To begin keeping a Zen journal, choose a richly textured and sumptuous journal that inspires you by touch. Write the date or name of the event you'll be describing. Choose only three to five words for each entry. Relax and allow the right words to find you.  You'll be amazed when you read through your journal later how easily you can recall the experience and emotions that inspired those words.
